Title: Four Jacks Beat! | 11th Feb, 2007 07:45 PM |
I was playing a 4&8 Limit Holdem game and had $40 dollars left of my $100 buy-in. Under the gun, I pick up wired Jacks and raise; the button and big blind call. The flop comes with a Queen and two Jacks. I check, button bets, BB calls as do I. A Queen hits the turn. We all check. River is a duece. BB checks, I bet, get raised by the button, BB folds, I reraise all-in with whats left of my stack, and the button calls after a moment. I'm all cocky and say "Can you beat these?" and show my Jacks. The button doesn't miss a beat, "Yep," he says as he flips over pocket Queens. |

Title: Stupid Play | 19th Mar, 2007 04:02 PM |
In a 10-20 limit I raised from early position with A-A to be called by 3 players. Flop:As-4s-7s. BB bet, I raised, two folded, BB called. Turn:10s. BB checked, I bet, BB called. River:2s. BB checked; I checked. BB had 4h-7c. The board played with the flush..Split Pot. When BB saw my aces he said "Knew you flopped a set of aces". When asked "If you knew he had a set of aces, why did you call his raise?" BB, "I was hoping to get a full house". Other player "You Could Not Have Won as his full house would've been bigger!" BB, "Gee, I never thought of that.” Stupidity does workout! |
